High consumption of sausages is carcinogenic

Director General of the Department of Nutrition in Health Ministry said: sausages and processed foods should not be consumed more than once a month, because excessive consumption of these materials due to its types of cooking and fats is carcinogenic. Mortaza Safavi said in an interview with Fars: small amount of sausage is not harmful for example once a month, but if eating these foods be a habit and because of easy preparation and low cost, and consume excessive, has a lot of complications that being carcinogenic being one of them. Director General of nutrition improvement in the Ministry of Health continued: usually in the preparation of sausage fats of meat is used instead of good meat, while in its cook conventional solid oils with high Trans is used that is very harmful. He said: if in the preparation of sausage, appropriate raw materials and oils without Trans were used and taking these substances doesn't be excessive, there is no problem. But unfortunately, we see the excessive consumption of these foods, particularly among adolescents and young people who consume street foods that is a great threat to the health of new generations in the future. He added: we are collecting the scientific information about the effects of consuming these types of foods and their abusing. And soon coming months, we will declare the exact figures of information on the consumption of sausages, beverages and sugar in Iran and their status.
